Historically, hotels were heated with fuel oil, a solution adopted after the war when natural gas was not yet reliable. These older systems, which were often poorly designed, still generate a large carbon footprint today.
Given that these systems are becoming obsolete, we have decidednot to switch to natural gas(a fossil fuel) or to a heat pump that is ill-suited to our building.
So it was only natural that we turned to wood pellets
