Not so long ago, the Hôtel Cardinal and Brasserie Paul were actually one and the same establishment.
At the same address and behind the same facade, travelers could stay across from Rouen Cathedral, have breakfast, and head to the brasserie for dinner. Accommodations and dining were thus naturally combined.
Then, in the early 1960s, the two establishments took different paths. The brewery and the hotel became two independent entities, each continuing its own history on Cathedral Square.
In 2027, nearly sixty years after they went their separate ways, the Hôtel Cardinal and the Brasserie Paul are joining forces again to offer a new package for business travelers: the Cardinal’s Soirée Étape.
The concept is simple: stay in a room with a view of the cathedral, dine just a few steps away in the historic atmosphere of Brasserie Paul, then have breakfast at the hotel before starting another day of work. One night, one dinner, and one breakfast all included in a single package: today, we’re reviving—in a new way—the partnership that once existed between the Hôtel Cardinal and Brasserie Paul.
Sixty years later, history has naturally taken its rightful place.
